Woodland Ways Flint and Steel Kit
These beautifully made high quality steels are produced exclusively by Woodland Ways.
They are designed for creating sparks by striking a piece of flint. These sparks come off at approx 400 degrees and are hot enough to light a piece of char cloth or other tinders and thus generate fire. These steels have a high iron content which is key to producing a good shower of sparks as iron is a pyrophoric material. (from the Greek pyrophoros meaning 'fire-bearing').
This 4mm thick steel comes as a complete ready to use kit which includes a piece of flint and a generous amount of char cloth contained in a small storage tin together with an instruction card on how to use it.
The Steels are available in three different designs, please choose your design from the drop down menu. One tin will be supplied.
